Italo Martinelli

Tours with the Author

“He defines himself as a historical raconteur, a “story teller” but, besides this, he is also an author of historical novels all centred around the medieval history of the city of Verona…
Really, i would be an entrepreneur by trade! I am passionate about history in general, in particular the medieval era and, for many years, the extraordinary story of Verona has captiva-ted me. Guiding the readers of my novels through the pages of my books or taking them step by step through the hidden streets of Verona, ultimately, it’s the same thing… History, any kind of history, should not be taught; it should be told. Histo-rical dissemination is the scrupulous and detailed narration of the events of times gone by, but which are still absolutely present in the names of the streets, in the colours of the sto-nes, in the stories of the people, in their voices, in the aromas of the squares, and in the colours of the sunset. Verona, the city of art, beauty and culture, facilitates this completely and makes it all easier and more fascinating.

What is behind narration and the dissemination?
Firstly, as i said, a lot of passion and respect for the visitor – be it a tourist or a citizen of Verona or elsewhere – there is so much study, research, learning, attention to detail, overview of historical events and also a little bit of “talent” required to draw in the interlocutor, to encourage him to participa-te, above all in a cultural and personal experience… In short, those on the journey with us should feel “better” by the end.
